I have supported Helen since 2023 when she was signposted to me from her solicitor. Helen was still living in the family home with her husband and children and the situation was extremely tense and difficult. Here’s what she has to say:
”My life has been turned upside down and I am supported by a Womens organisation. There has been an upset or something else to deal with every week. My ex has done everything to try and destroy me and my children. I’ve lost my home, money, been threatened, lied to and lied about! Everything I shared about my abuser with Caron, she could clarify, she has helped me know what to do when I am unsafe and can help predict behaviour patterns and ways to deal with the abuser.
I have phoned her in an emergency and even if she is in court she will get back to me. She can advise on a personal level that a solicitor is unable to do and has helped me with all the worries of mediation, court and social services.
Caron offers so much knowledge with the system and the situation that I have found myself in and the biggest worry has been my children and this is when she has helped me immensely! I thought I’d lost them, but now we are happier and even though I’ve had to leave my family home it was the best thing to do! I still have a long way to go but I’m stronger and feel positive about the new changes ahead of me and my future. I think I will always stay in contact with Caron she’s played a big part in guiding me and fighting my battle!”
I am happy to say that Helen has managed to negotiate a parenting plan that she is happy with, in mediation. I’m still supporting her as she goes through Court proceedings for finances and we plan to raise a glass of champagne together when it’s all completed.
